inception

the lowdown: Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a thief, but not like any ordinary one. He is the master of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. His job costs him everything he loved but this one last task might just give him his life back. Instead of stealing an idea, he and his team of specialists have to plant one. The only thing standing in the way is Cobb and his mysterious past.

what's the buzz?: Christopher Nolan has outdone himself. Inception is a fantastic mind boggling movie with a brilliant storyline, an all star cast, first class effects and of course, the important part of all: twist and turns, 'hold onto the edge of your seat, nail biting' SUSPENSE.

what's the fuzz?: A complex movie for sure. Some might feel it a bit too heavy. And if you miss something, you'll definitely miss the train.

roundup: A thought provoking movie with a multi-layered script. All the actor are amazing too. DiCaprio is a stand-out with the emotional weight of his character. Tom Hardy who plays Eames gives a breakout performance, a scene stealer with his witty lines and a smile. A well-composed score the perfect touch for this movie. I was mesmerized and captivated by this unique piece by Nolan.

p.s: You probably have to watch it twice, to understand it and let your mind wrapped around the very possible idea of the movie. A good debate indeed :D

rating: world class chocolate

enjoy!!

  1. I LOVE this movie a lot!!!
Everything is wonderful to the cast, script, director, acting and chemistry.
Everyone did a great job and Leo outdone himself.

Tom Hardy as Eames is amazing. I love his witty one-liners and his banter with Arthur.
Joseph Gordan-Levitt is great as well. He looks polished with his hair sleeked back.
    Ellen Page looks grown up.

I was on the edge of my seat. For me, Leo's story was the most compelling part in the movie, then only is the dream levels the characters enters into. I felt so sad for his character and how his wife hounds him and the reason she did what she did.

Special mention goes to Marion Cotillard for scaring me in the basement scene and Ken Watanabe for his performance as Saito, the businessman.

Dileep Rao as Yusuf was funny. I like his interactions with the team.

It was weird seeing Cillian Murphy as the victim instead of the baddie but he did a good job in acting as a son who doesn't have a relationship with his cold father.

Michael Caine as Dom's father was superb. When I saw him, 'Miss Congeniality' started playing before me.

The best/ heartbreaking moment is when Mal commits suicide in front of Cobb. Dom's grief could be felt so clearly and we the viewers felt for him.

Ps: The children are so cute.

You're absolutely right, the movie should be watched more than once.
Can't wait to see again with you when you come back :)

haha, my thoughts exactly on cilian murphy and michael caine. though i think michal caine is mal's father, so he is dom's father-in-law.
