eat pray love

It's been awhile since my last movie review which was Inception.

I like to thank JR for the free tickets and MA for the company, also a special thanks to GSC and Style Magazine for this premiere screening on the 23 September 2010 at Pavillion :)

the lowdown:  A movie based on a 2006 memoir by an American author, Elizabeth Gilbert. The memoir chronicles the author's trip  around the world (Italy, India and Indonesia) after her divorce and what she discovered during her  travels, e.g: Italy - EAT, India - PRAY, Indonesia - LOVE.

The movie will be released in Malaysia on 30th September. I've read the book last year and I will try not to compare the two in my review.

Wanna know my review? Well, what are you waiting for? Come along!
what's the buzz?: I would have to say the location/ scenery shots. It was breathtakingly beautiful. Then the food! I was craving for all those pizza, spaghetti and oh my, talking about it now, makes me hungry! Lastly, the guys in the film. Javier Bardem was fantastic as Felipe, Richard Jenkins was superb, Billy Crudup was surprisingly amazing albeit a short appearance, James Franco was great and Luca another plus. But my favourite would have to be the guy who plays Ketut Liyer, (Hadi Subiyanto) :p

what's the fuzz?: Now, you're probably wondering...what about Julia Roberts? Well, she is clearly one of the best actress in Hollywood, who could forget Erin Brockovich and Pretty Woman? However, in this movie, the character seem to have an awful case of selfishness but due to plot changes, we don't really feel for her. And since the character is played by Julia Roberts, this makes it rather confusing.

roundup: To put it simply, it has all the ingredients of the story but without the passion.

rating: Durianic. Some people will love it and some won't.

Here's the trailer:
